Keds is a leading American brand of canvas shoe with rubber soles. Keds was founded in the year 1916 by U.S. Rubber. The shoe brand was later on purchased by Stride Rite Corporation, and is presently owned by Wolverine World Wide. The shoes uses organic cotton uppers, 20% recycled rubber soles, non-toxic inks, dyes, nickel free eyelets, and shoelaces created from 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate .

During the 1960s and 1970s, Keds started selling casual shoes to its product line. By the1970s a superior quality athletic shoe than the basic Keds called Pro-Keds was also added. Mainly linked with basketball, they were planned to race with the industry standard Converse high-top and inroads made by European imports like  Adidas, Pony, and Nike. The attempt was not capable to institute Keds as a victorious contestant in that marketplace. During the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, Keds became quite popular among girls. They were frequently worn with slouch socks. Noteworthy wearers on TV and film were Kelly Kapowski , Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and D.J. (Candace Cameron), Becca Thatcher (Kellie Martin) and other popular shows.

Buyers Review

What I'm really trying to say here is that these Keds are by far one of the best purchases I have made in my "adult" life. They were cheap, about half the price of Converse, extremely comfortable, and [at least I believe] are pretty stylish. Although I'd probably never purchase the white ones, as they would remind me too much of my grandmother, any other colour is great.
